One of the main reasons Fields of Promise was started was to promote the plight of orphans worldwide.  We believe that God is the Father to the Fatherless and that He allows each of us to play a role in this ministry.  We desire to encourage the overall Church body to consider their responsibility to defend the rights of the needy and get involved.  This looks different for every individual.  Some ways to get involved are:

• Consider sponsoring an orphan or half-orphan who is living with extended family
• Gather supplies for an orphanage and send them over with a travelling family
• Raise money through your church or workplace to benefit orphans
• Participate in a short-term missions project aimed at ministering to orphans
• Commit to praying regularly for those who've lost one or both of their parents
• Contribute to the adoption fund at your local church
• Consider giving financially towards the adoption expenses of friends or family
• Ask the Lord if adoption is something you should consider

Our intent is to provide local seminars at churches and organizations aimed at increasing awarness about the needs worldwide and God's heart for the orphan.  Watch this website for upcoming events!

Because we believe that God has called us to advocate for those without a voice, our goal is to seek families for the children God has put in our path.  We currently have 4 care homes in Ethiopia with our NGO partner and approximately 15 of the children in these homes meet the US Embassy's guidelines as being eligible for foreign adoption.  Fields of Promise is NOT an adoption agency that provides Ethiopian placement services therefore we refer families interested in these children to World Association of Children and Parents (WACAP) for information on how to get started with this process.  They handle the entire process from start to finish.  Families who are close to being homestudy-ready can view our photolisting and can receive a DVD from Fields of Promise if they need further information on these adoptable older children in our homes. We are usually able to provide a good deal of information about the kids since they are well-known to us.  Because we ARE a licensed child placing agency, we can provide general education about the education process and can help you decide if adoption of an older child is right for your family.  Would you consider opening your heart to one of these beautiful children who is waiting for their forever family?  To view our password-protected waiting child list, click this link:  Waiting Children.  Send us an email at adopt@fieldsofpromise.org for more information or to request a password.
