Fields of Promise currently sponsors over  60 blind students who range in age from 15 to 28.  They are trying to finish school to increase their chances of survival apart from a life of begging.  16 of them have already qualified for University and we are continuing to support them until they complete their degrees in teaching, Law or languages.  We fund a full-time  caseworker who monitors their progress, distributes a monthly stipend, and provides annual assistance with clothing, school uniform and registration fees.  As we are able, we deliver Braille Bibles and books, canes, stylus' and slates for the students to use in working towards their goals. 

Every month, the students gather to be encouraged from God's word and to write letters to their U.S. sponsors.  We currently need sponsors for 22  of our students at $20 per month so that they can be encouraged through emails and have a family in the US who will be praying for them and eager to hear of their progress.    Each sponsor receives a photo and information on their student, as well as quarterly postcards from Ethiopia.  If you are interested, please send an email to  sponsor@fieldsofpromise.org  or click on Ways to Give to donate now.  

In addition to the sponsorships, Fields of Promise is also providing a Resource Room which is located in the  House of Promise #2.  We have established the room with Braille Bibles, books, Braille games, 4 Laptop computers equipped with assistive technology for the blind, and several audio books. 

It is our goal that this will further enable the students to be equipped for vocational opportunities, as well as providing a safe haven for fellowship and relaxation.   If you would like to donate supplies for the room, please contact us!
